A groom got so drunk at his wedding that his mother-in-law had to feed him with her own hands.
The moment, filmed on camera by one of the attendees, was later shared on social media where it was viewed and shared by countless users.
Recalling his big day, groom Terry, from Scotland, told LADbible: “I had a few beers and glasses of fizz before this but I think a big factor for the drunkenness was the emotion from the day.
“I had just completed my speech and everything hit me.
“The woman feeding me is my mother-in-law who is the best mother-in-law in the world. Before the video I got married but was in good shape, during the ceremony which we spoke our own vows.
“After the ceremony we had about two hours of free booze and it was fairly hot for Scotland with the sun shining on us at our amazing wedding location.”
The footage of the woman shoving food into her son-in-law’s mouth might indicate that the wedding was a complete disaster – but this wasn’t the case.
Prior to the moment seen in the video, all the speeches, as well as the rest of the ceremony, went perfectly smooth.
Even after getting smashed, Terry was able to recover, thanks to the immediate help of his best man. He even danced at the end of the ceremony.
“My best man was feeding me and making drink a lot of water,” Terry said.
“This wasn’t working so they started to give me tough love, slapping me in the face pretty damn hard, I was going into the land of sleep but they persisted to slap me and splash water in my face and after 20 to 30 minutes I somehow miraculously woke up.
“From here I needed a little bit of alone time and I started to walk up a hill but was talked around by one of pals and then proceeded back to the wedding venue to continue to eat and only drink water till the food was finished.”
Terry gives the credit of his miraculous recovery to his best man, as well as his usher and wife.
He said: “How I made a recovery was down to my best man, usher and my wife, who by the way is my best friend in this world.
“When I returned I was able to make a full recovery, danced my first dance with my new wife and cut our wedding cake – which was actually tequila shots in the shape of a cake (had about 10 of them).
“I greeted all the evening guests and was able to dance the night away till the very end.”
Now that the ’embarrassing’ moment is past them, the couple finds it extremely hilarious whenever they look back at their wedding day.
“The video is highly embarrassing as this is not the way you should be at your wedding day during the speeches, but we love to laugh at each other’s stupidness,” Terry said.
“With this situation you could understand that she may have been upset as I was a total mess, but due to me making a comeback she has seen the funny side to the video.”
