When the bus driver refused to drive the bus that displayed the number board supporting the gay pride, the driver at the Norwich station immediately refused to drive.
The passengers that were boarding the bus were made to wait for 15 minutes as the driver felt humiliated and offended to drive a bus which supported homosexuality.
The issue was taken seriously on Twitter by one of the passengers called Rebecca who approached the authority at the Norwich station about the rude behavior of the driver.
She even clicked the picture of the driver and posted it on Twitter asking for justice. She also said that the driver was very rude and it was ridiculous for him to make the passengers wait for his bigotry.
Initially Rebecca and a few other passengers thought that the driver was joking but later, they found that he was pretty serious.
He would not drive the bus and he then boarded another double Decker bus where he allowed the passengers to board without any questions.
Rebecca, a 19 year old student took it up boldly and even said that the management of the Konectbus could immediately identify the person when she complained and questioned about the issue not being investigated.
The bus company in response to the Twitter message apologized to all the passengers and also mentioned about the suspension of the driver followed by a thorough investigation.
They also mentioned that they would not mind going an extra mile to serve their customers and they would never compromise on the quality and the behavior of their drivers.
Waiting for 10 minutes wasn’t an issue but, the driver refusing to drive the bus multicolored 501 number bus to Thickthorn for a ridiculous reason like this was definitely intolerable.
Rebecca was totally annoyed with the rude behavior of the driver and she made sure to take the issue seriously by lodging complaint on the driver’s act at the front desk.
She was taken aback when the officials recognized the driver and but had not taken any action despite knowing the issue. She said that, everyone should be treated with great respect.
