A man has spoken out and faced a major backlash after revealing he kicked a woman out of his party because she ‘disrespected’ him by checking if he drugged her drink.
According to the guy who took the matter to Reddit’s page called ‘Am I The A**hole?’ the woman implied he drugged her drink and embarrassed him in front of other people. After kicking her from his party, he felt bad about it and asked the internet whether he did the right thing or not.
“I always play bartender when I host because it’s my bar in my house and it’s just what I do. A girl who works for the company at another office is sitting at my packed bar table and I mixed her a martini because I saw her drinking martinis at the bar before,” he explained.
“When I put her drink in front of her, she looked at it, then to her friend beside her and asked, ‘Did you watch him make it?’ Her friend goes, ‘No, I was talking,’ or something.
“She looks at me and starts to try to deny the drink. I heard her ask her friend that question so I said, ‘Are you kidding?’ I have a sense of humor so I could have taken it as a joke.”
As the Redditer added, she could ask for another drink or decline the offer on the spot rather than ‘making a scene.’
“She was being serious so I told her to get the f**k out of my house and I pointed to the door,” he added. “She had her chance to give any explanation besides me possibly drugging her drink, but didn’t.”
As the guy added, he never before kicked anyone from his party. “I basically explained to whoever wanted to talk about it that I felt disrespected in my own home for no good reason and that is cause for me to kick someone out,” he went on to say.
After the incident went viral, the Reddit user asked the platform if what he did was right or wrong only to face a major backlash from concerned individuals.
“Look at her from her POV, a guy she doesn’t know put an unasked for drink in front of her, then got angry when she said no. That’s a major red flag,” someone wrote.
“It’s a common safety practice. It’s a life or death thing that you probably have never had to worry about. You should talk to some of your close female friends/family about this and see what they say. Try to learn something,” another one said.
One person suggested: “You might have been insulted, but this is a literal case of life and death for women. These are precautions we take everywhere. You never know who is capable of this, until they’re caught. She’s looking out for her safety. You valued your pride more than her safety.”
