Those who suffer from tough times become kind at heart.
They have seen hardships and seen tough times be it financial hardships or health-related.
After facing the trials and hardships their temperament becomes so loving and sweet that they cannot see anyone in pain and despair.
Generally, such temperaments are expected from grownups but you will be surprised to know the work done by a 5-year-old will make you surprise.
This boy suffered from cancer for 3 years and then survived from the battle. His suffering, however, made him sweet and humble.
Gabe Rodriguez was just 1.5 years of age when he was diagnosed with cancer. The type of cancer from which Gabe suffered was acute lymphoblastic leukemia it was a type of blood cancer.
Being a kid he could not understand his condition. But his mother Katie Rodriguez had a clear idea that Gabe is going to suffer a lot because of this disease.
Gabe had no idea about how he was going to suffer but his mother knew that his hair and teeth will be gone. He will have chemotherapies that are of course painful. Katie narrated that how Gabe suffered throughout sickness.
She says that he would have a spinal tap and chemotherapy for the whole day. Even then despite blood transfusions, Gabe was so courageous that he went out for playing.
Gabe knew the intensity of disease later on and then, later on, became resilient. While seeing his family he had a clear idea that how the families of cancer patients suffer mentally as well as financially.
So he decided to take a step and asked his mother he wants to donate his toys to kids suffering from cancer. They both mutually decided to sell lemonade to help the families of cancer trodden so that they can arrange medicine.
Being a softball coach Katie invited all her team to the softball match at Harris as Gabe will be selling lemonade. She told them that all the money will be donated to the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Unit at the memorial hospital.
On the decided day people came and donated $20 and $50 by which they were able to collect $640. This amount will be used to help the patients at the hospital where Gabe was treated. Katie says that “ I am proud of him.” A 5-year-old child did what elders cannot do.
