A 69-year-old grandfather was left in tears after hearing the song he wrote from the 1980s.
Mike Brook used to sing a song to his daughter, Chera Willett when she was a child. His granddaughter, Karli Willett, who is an aspiring singer, decided to record the song to pay a special tribute on the Christmas Eve.
When Karli played her version of the song, Mike became emotional and couldn’t hold back his tears.
Karli’s mother and Mike’s daughter, Chera was also left in tears after hearing the song her father used to sing to her in her childhood.
Karli’s mother, Chera Willett said: “It is an adolescence memory of my father putting his heart in the lyrics of that song. A significant memory growing up.”
“My daughter Karli is also a songwriter and a singer, She loves her grandfather which she calls ‘paw-paw’ so much. We recently had that idea to finish the song and record it as a surprise for the Christmas Eve for my father and it was a precious moment”.
Mike Brook wanted to join the U.S. Army but due to the partial hearing loss and a few old football injuries from high school, he couldn’t join the Army.
Brook then wrote this song about a veteran soldier and used to sing the song to his children.
Hearing it after so many years, he couldn’t hold back his tears.
When the emotional video was shared online, it instantly went viral, leaving people in tears.
