Plans for the world’s biggest, longest, and fastest rollercoaster have been confirmed as Six Flags, a US theme park operator, announced they would be building a state-of-the-art amusement park in Saudi Arabia.
According to the developers, the record-breaking ride called The Falcon’s Flight will represent the center of the Qiddiya theme park that Six Flags will develop some 25 miles away from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
In an illustrative video, the company presented the ride and explained it will consist of 16 seats distributed into four carriages.
Besides reaching the record-crushing speed of 155 miles per hour, the rollercoaster will also feature sheer drops and unexpected turns to satisfy those who are not easy to impress.
The Falcon’s Flight ride will come along with stunning views of the massive amusement park.
“Our vision is to make Six Flags Qiddiya a theme park that delivers all the thrills and excitement that audiences from all over the world have come to expect from the Six Flags brand,” Qiddiya Investment Company CEO Michael Reininger said in an interview with Saudi Gazette.
“And, to elevate those experiences with authentic themes connected to the location, as a place that will create indelible memories and moments of delight, telling stories that resonate with our guests is a central notion that will be evident throughout Qiddiya.”
In total, the Qiddiya theme park will feature 28 attractions that will spread over 79 acres of land belonging to six main subdivisions including ‘The City of Thrills’, ‘Steam Town’, ‘Discovery Springs’, ‘Twilight Gardens’, ‘Grand Exposition’ and ‘Valley of Fortune’.
“The Six Flags brand began in 1961 when we opened as our first park, Six Flags Over Texas, which was themed according to the six flags that once flew over Texas,” Six Flags President David McKillips added.
“At Six Flags Qiddiya, we return to that heritage by creating six immersive lands designed for Saudis of all ages who seek family entertainment experiences steeped in their rich culture and history.
“We are thrilled to be part of a project of such scale and scope and are proud to celebrate this milestone with Qiddiya.”
The theme park is set to open in 2023.
