He adopted Jack from the Dog’s Trust centre in West Calder where he had been for nine months.
Christopher also met his wife, Margaret when he was walking out of the rescue centre with Jack.
Margaret, a care home worker, was also looking for a dog. When she met Christopher, they instantly connected because of their love for dogs.
Jack, who spent most of his life as a guard dog in the kennel, has become very happy and his behaviour has changed after he started living with Christopher.
The couple, who lives in Motherwell, says that Jack is a part of the family.
Chris said: “We had a lovely sentimental day, and Jack played a big part. He loved it, he really did. I wouldn’t have considered getting a rescue dog because of his age – he’s around six.”
“But when he went up to me, we just clicked. Little did I know that I’d meet my future wife at the rescue centre too.”
Jack also changed Chris who was going through a rough time before meeting him. Jack helped him overcome his grief of losing his son.
He said: “I don’t believe that I rescued Jack – I think he rescued me. When we decided to get married, Jack had to be there.”
The wedding video of Christopher and Margaret has now gone viral on the Internet and people are loving how well Jack behaved at the wedding.
