Pets are always dear to their owners.
Whether it is a dog or a little bird, pet animals tend to establish a bond with their owners.
But little do the owners know that these pets can offer them painful memories in certain situations.
As strange and bizarre it may sound, an Australian woman died after being attacked by her rooster. After the incident, the identity of the woman is kept anonymous in order to safeguard her family from any trauma.
According to the reports prepared by the police officials, the elderly woman was, as usual, collecting the eggs from the coop when the aggressive rooster attacked her to the extent that punctured her varicose vein with its beak resulting in her death.
The medical reports concluded that though the victim succumbed several injuries, the major cause of death was severe bleeding due to the damaged veins.
The strange incident has not only alerted the public but also several the human welfare organization to come forward and spread awareness regarding the measures of defense against animal attacks.
Roger Byard, the forensic expert professor at Adelaide University, has been conducting a study on the animals who pose grave danger, particularly to elderly lot.
He further added during an interview that the incident has made him realize how vulnerable varicose vein can be in older people. He also tried connecting with the people who have treated their varicose vein with an operation as it is prone to easy damage.
The professor also shared similar news of death caused severe scratching on the leg by a pet cat. Cats are also under the radar of dangerous animals as they can be a major reason for tripping injuries in elderly.
Professor Byard further dissected the issue by stating that, though varicose veins are particularly vulnerable to damages caused by animals, there are several things a person should be careful of while dealing with their pets.
Many cases have been reported so far that majorly involves an elderly victim and an animal attacker. For instance, a man was brutally killed by his pet cassowary.
During the BBC interview, Alachua County Sheriff Department stated that Marvin Hajos (victim) was found heavily wounded by his cassowary when the officials reached his home. He was rushed to the nearest hospital where he died due to severe injuries.
Such consistent and saddening incidents of animal attacks ring an alarm among the people making the human welfare organizations work vigilantly in spreading maximum awareness.
