One such puss was caught on camera and the video gained millions of likes in an instant after it went viral within the cat-loving communities.
While one can only guess what the cat in the video is saying, it is clearly interested in hunting down the birds that it’s observing.
According to the University of Georgia’s professor of veterinary behavior, Sharon Crowell-Davis, cats may be just as expressive as dogs despite the fact that communication skills aren’t their top skill.
“Although cats give off the impression of being aloof, they are actually capable of making facial expressions,” the professor said.
“You’ll see when they’re stressed or when they’re pained the facial muscles are tensed, and when they’re happy or relaxed, their facial muscles are relaxed.”
After the video of the cat mumbling to itself went viral, thousands of people claimed that their cats act the same way when watching birds.
“My cat does this. It’s normal for cats to chirp/mimic the birds they are watching,” one person wrote.
“I have an old cat and he’s been acting like this for years. The good thing to know that he’s not the only one mumbling to itself while preparing to ‘catch’ its prey…” another one said.
