Owing to the increasing number of deaths and vaping related issues, governor Andrew Cuomo of New York has released a ban over vaping and e-cigarettes.
During a press conference held on Sunday morning, Governor revealed emergency executive action against vaping and e-cigarette consumption.
Cuomo declared that vaping is dangerous; hence, it should be eradicated from our society with a view to keep the US citizens healthy and sound.
Vaping is dragging youngsters towards nicotine addiction at a young age. There are several flavored vapes available in the market, such as cotton candy, bubblegum that are primarily aimed at attracting the younger crowd.
The increasing medical cases arising due to vaping is the secondary reason for such bans. There have been staggering rates of deaths in the country due to vaping that has compelled the government officials to take such decisions all across the country.
Cuomo further added in the press conference that there’s no confirmation regarding the long term effect of consuming this product, hence, staying a bit adrift is important to safeguard our health.
JUUL, a prominent e cigarette manufacturer in the industry, has come forward and said that they would review the emergency executive action released by Governor and do the needful.
The band doesn’t affect the menthol products, which is quite relieving for the menthol cigarette smokers.
JUUL also confirmed that they have already given up making flavored e-cigarettes which majorly included fruit flavors like mango, kiwi, apple, etc.
Cuomo has instructed the State Police to join hands with the Department of Health Commissioner sand restrict the sale of vaping products to a minor.
He further added to the situation by saying it is clearly a criminal offense. The health council should issue emergency regulations that should effectuate this immediately.
