Employees at an abortion clinic have hit out after a poster for the upcoming ‘Terminator’ movie was erected outside the facility.
Staff at the Marie Stopes Bowen Hills Day Surgery in Australia were outraged to see the big Terminator poster standing outside its premises. They blasted the misguided billboard and it is understood that the poster is now underway to remove it.
A photo of the poster was posted on Reddit with the caption: “This billboard just went up outside an abortion clinic in Brisbane.”
A spokesperson for the center said employees brought the issue to their attention. They told Daily Mail: “It was through our staff we started to make inquiries to get it removed. It’s unfortunate and obviously inappropriate.”
The photo of the Terminator: Dark Fate poster has been doing the rounds online and sparked a flurry of criticism. One person said “Billboards at medical clinics is just tacky” while another said it was “brutal.”
A Twitter user who posted another photo of the billboard said it was in bad taste and wrote: “Hey @Terminator, who decided it was a good idea to put a billboard outside an abortion clinic? Poor form.”
One internet user commented: “Why would that be in any way offensive? they Terminate pregnancies for a living. Sounds like someone has a guilty conscience…”
Another said: “Im confused why its offensive. I was looking to see if there was a catch phrase or something on the poster like in the 90s era, nope.”
A third wrote: “I don’t get the uproar? Did the Terminator folks not pay the ad fees to use the billboard? Did they cover over a different advertisment? Does the clinic even OWN that billboard?”
Someone else commented: “Pretty much the funniest thing I’ve seen all day, but let’s go ahead and find a way to get mad about it right?”
