We live in a world, where the mind dominates over the heart.
People are becoming more competitive. Everyone wants to climb and reach the top one way or another. Being over ambitious, emotionless are becoming very commonplace each day. But some incidents change our mind and made us believe that humanity exists there.
Recently, Army Lt. Col. Robert Risdon went to Taco Bell to have some dinner. He was sitting down to eat dinner when he saw two young boys walked into the restaurant to sell their homemade dessert. They were selling dessert to raise the money for their local church.
Lt. Col. Robert Risdon noticed the boy’s ages 9 and 13 looked wet, cold and hungry.
What happened next is going viral, it was all captured on camera by another customer named Jason.
To accompany the video he posted on Facebook, Jason wrote: “I was in a taco bell tonight when two kids came in trying to sell homemade desserts for money.
“I overheard a soldier ask the kids if they were hungry and told them to follow him to the counter, he would buy them dinner. I had to video it and share. Our troops are always taking care of us. Thank u LTC Robert Risdon please please share this….I heard the little one say I want to be just like u when I grow up and saluted him.”
On top of buying tacos and drinks for the kids, Risdon also shared a friendly conversation with them.
As soon as video gone viral, Army Lt. Col. Risdon told The Huffington Post and said: “I’m kinda embarrassed and humbled by the praise and don’t need it.”
“I am a believer that we live in the best country in the world with the best people and that acts of kindness happen every day.”
Well, we need more people like him in the world. Words of encouragement or just a warm smile make a big impact and make the world a better place.
