Jennifer Aniston made a debut on Instagram and broke the Internet with her very first post.
Fans got a little too excited to follow their idol that it caused issues for the platform and Instagram crashed.
“We are aware that some people were having issues following Jen’s profile,” a spokesperson for Facebook, which owns Instagram, said in a statement to CNN. “We are thrilled to have this ‘Friend’ as part of the Instagram community.”
The 50-year-old actress first posted a photo with her former ‘Friends’ co-stars Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry and Matt LeBlanc.
In less than 24 hours, her very first photo received over 8 million likes and she garnered 6 million followers in a day.
The photo caused crashed to the app and fans were not able to follow her for a time. Well, the issue was resolved and Jennifer has now garnered more than 10 million followers.
“As of now, people should be able to access and follow her profile with no problems,” a Facebook company spokesperson said.
Fans showered their love for Jennifer and were happy to see the cast of ‘Friends’ together.
One commented: ‘’I can’t even explain how happy this makes me!! I’m more excited about this then Joey is about sandwiches.’’
‘’The day that THE Ms. Aniston literally broke the internet,’’ wrote another.
‘’I absolutely LOVE FRIENDS I’m obsessed and Rachel is my fave character,’’ another said.
Mariah Carey, Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon are among a number of celebrities who have posted messages welcoming Aniston to the platform.
“YASSSS!!! Welcome to Insta Jen!!!” wrote Witherspoon, who appears with the actress in her new Apple TV series The Morning Show.
Jennifer posted a funny video also writing, “I swear I didn’t mean to break it… Thanks for the kind, glitchy welcome everyone.”
