Hannah Tyre, from Georgia, who has bones like glass, started vlogging three years ago and has a YouTube channel named ‘Beauty By Hannah’.
The vlogging has given her confidence and improved her self-esteem.
Hannah told Barcroft TV: “I started getting into makeup and watching a lot of YouTubers and one day it just kind of clicked that maybe I should try to give it a go myself.”
Hannah lives with her mother Cindy and brother Colton in Waycross and requires their help to do her daily tasks.
She needs help to get dresses and to get in and out of her wheelchair. Despite her disability, Hannah became a beauty blogger after getting inspired by other beauty bloggers.
Hannah’s mother, Cindy said when she was born, doctors and nurses had told her to not physically hold her.
She said: “I had doctors and nurses telling us to put her on a pillow and to not physically hold her because we could break her and hurt her. To not be able to hold my baby was very scary and traumatic. As a new mother, the first thing you want to do is hold your baby and cuddle your baby.”
Hannah says sometimes it frustrated her because she felt she was dependant on others. But after she started Vlogging, she felt more confident and her self-esteem improved.
She said: “My disease has slightly improved over the year. I’ve gotten a lot better at not breaking bones and getting sick. I feel like that’s a really good thing and I’m very happy about that.”
“Sometimes it frustrates me a little bit that I can be more independent but not always. I don’t really let it bother me too much because everyone needs help sometimes.”
Hannah now wants people to treat her like a normal person and wants to raise awareness through her videos that disabled people are not different.
