Meet Pudding.
She’s probably the friendliest fox you’ll ever meet.
Even though she was born in the wild, this tiny red fox is apparently too friendly to survive on her own.
As a baby, Pudding was abandoned by her mother, only to be found and rescued by the National Fox Welfare Society in Yorkshire, England.Even though the society had originally planned to release her once she was treated, fate took over.

Originally, the society was going to introduce Pudding to the other little fox cubs. Then, along with them, Pudding would be reintegrated to the wild. However, just shortly before the society was going to let Pudding into the pen, a tree fell.
Even though none of the foxes were hurt, this tree completely blocked the entrance to the enclosure. So, Pudding was stuck with her human friends.

By the time they were able to remove the tree from the entrance, it was too late.
Pudding was already attached to her human caretakers, who were hand-feeding her.
When the society tried again to assimilate her with the fox cubs, it became clear that Pudding was too tame. She became too domestic for the wild, and the society decided that returning her to the wild would risk her life.
