The anticipated sequel to the Oscar-winning Disney film of 2013 made a surprising $350.
2 million over the weekend in its worldwide debut, smashing records to become the largest-opening animated film ever.
In just the U.S., the family musical made approximately $125 million over a period of 3 days.
The original movie, Frozen, that made $1.27 billion all over the world, held the record for the highest-grossing animated film ever until this year, when the remake of The Lion King, another Disney film, surpassed it.
Frozen had also won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature film in the year 2014.
Frozen 2 is the movie that goes back to the childhood of Elsa and Anna to explore the source of the powers of the queen and fans may expect numerous differences this time around.
Kristen Bell, the lady who voices Anna in the movie, states that they in Arendelle for 10 clock minutes, which is what makes it different.
She adds that whatever you think Frozen is, throw that “in the trash because this movie is like an epic adventure where everything is seemingly good in Arendelle”.
Bell says that Elsa, in the movie, begins to hear a calling, and then they decide to go find what it is.
She also tells that they go out into an enchanted forest with things, places, people they had never seen before and it is uncharted so everything is a surprise.
On their way, Bell tells, they learn some dangerous facts about history that threaten the future of their kingdom so the movie really is adventurous according to her.
