It is a problem probably as long as humanity; sleeping at night you suddenly wake up, shivering with cold only to find out the entire quilt or blanket or comforter wrapped around your partner.
Not anymore! Thanks to this new invention, dubbed the ‘infinite duvet,’ you won’t face this problem ever again.
The new quilt is designed to make sure you remain covered all the time. It is a fruit of the research of the people at Simba, a tech firm.
The system they have developed consists of rollers installed inside the bed making sure that the cover is equally divided between both of the people sharing it at all times.
When one of the persons in the bed changes sides while sleeping, the system consisting of a series of rollers and tensioners starts moving.
It takes in the cover from that side and feeds it out to the other side of the bed.
The company decided to invent the infinite cover system after knowing the fact that uneven distribution of covers is a leading cause of tension between people sharing a bed.
Simba conducted a survey on 2,000 adults and the results were shocking.
One-fourth of the people said that the cover-stealing actions of their partners caused them to have a restless night and an angry day. One-third of the surveyed adults confessed that they were mad at their partners for stealing the blanket.
A staggering one-sixth of the participants had ended their relationships oversleeping conflicts.
Explaining the design, Steve Reid, the CEO of Simba said: “Duvet stealing is a sore subject among British couples – a bedroom habit that’s the catalyst for hundreds of arguments.
“Combine this with a healthy dose of festive season stress for good measure.
“Whether it’s the pandemonium of having everyone under one roof, keeping the house tidy or the pressure of cooking, each can keep us from being our usual calm, well-rested selves.
“We thought it could be fun to explore how we might put some of these tensions to bed.”
Not only the duvet distribution problem is solved by this bed, but this bed is also a self-cleaning and self-making bed.
However, the bed is still in R&D and will not be available in the market in the near future.
Steve added: “When you sleep better, you are more likely to make better decisions, take less risks and start the day in a more positive and peaceful frame of mind.
“So, for those who can’t wait for a futuristic sleep solution like the Duvet Diplomat, Simba’s temperature-regulating Hybrid Duvet with space-inspired Stratos technology has everything you need to prevent sleepless nights this Christmas.”
