MediocreFilms asked Melissa to become a part of their documentary.
But, she didn’t know that she was going to be part of Prank It FWD. This is a YouTube video series that are doing pranks, but not for mischief, but for good causes.
Melissa is a 21-year-old girl, and she has two younger brothers, JJ and Christian.
All three siblings have been separated from their biological mom, who was often in and out of prison.
They have never been raised together and spent their life in different foster homes. JJ and Christan were having a good life with their foster parents but still wanted to live with their sister.
Melissa decided to join the Marines, and while giving her service she learned to be more self-disciplined. It made her more courageous, so she could take the next steps that many 21-year-old would hesitate to do. She decided to adopt her younger brothers!
This was a dream of Melissa, to unite and live like a family once more. But she also knew that this is not going to be an easy process. Still, she tried and plead in court for their custody.
She is only 21 years old, Melissa knew that she was qualified enough to be a parent for her younger siblings. She was hoping and praying that the judge would avoid her age and grant her plea. She knew that she can take care of her brothers very well. The biggest challenge in her fight was her financial status.
But Prank It FWD is more than willing to help her!
Melissa was given a second cell phone, food, and snacks for the road. They also give her a prepaid card for gas, $949 rent for the month, and also a brand new RAV4! Melissa was so touched by their contribution, and it made her journey easy. Their effort helped her in preparing for her much-awaited reunion with her brothers.
Melissa is a proof of the adage that says, “If there’s a will, there’s a way.”
Melissa proved that nothing is impossible in this world if you are dedicated.
