Doug Hayes from Oregon surprised his 10 grandchildren with the most unique and unusual gift for Christmas.
He gifted them with a school bus that carried an engraving called the “Grandfather Express” so that his 10 grandkids can go to school with no issues.
During an interview, Mr. Haynes revealed the actual reason behind the school bus he purchased.
He said that the school bus would be a great choice as a gift for the grandkids and the kids have expressed their love for the school and wish to travel by a school bus to get there.
Mr. Hayes thought it would be better to turn their dreams into reality, and he took the step to do so.
He also provided information that five of his grandkids go to Paideia Classical Christian School.
He also said that the school, happens to be a private institute and not that big to have their own set of school buses.
This indicates that the parents of his five grandkids are the ones responsible to take them to school daily.
The other five of his grandkids are not in that age to attend school.
Hayes also said that the kids live 20-minutes away from the house which means the school is about 2 or 3 miles away.
He also added that he has made plans of picking up the kids for school every morning and dropping them off back home once school is over.He will do so regularly before he leaves for work.
Hayes said that he is thankful towards his wife Amy, who was the one that gave him the idea in the first place.
The school bus that he discovered was already decorated and carried magnetic numbers and letters on it. He is all set to bring his bus on the road, once the kids are all ready to go back to school.
