Sexual diseases ad infections can often shatter dreams, that’s what happened with Stephanie Muller, 23 who waited until her wedding to lose virginity only to find she can’t have intercourse.
Stephanie and her 31 years old husband decided that they would wait until their wedding night to have intercourse. Both met at the local church in 2013 and tied the knot in 2017.
They went for their dream honeymoon and discovered that sex wasn’t easy as it was difficulty in penetration.
Later it was discovered that Stephanie is suffering from a yeast infection that failed to clear up for three months.
She also went for a pelvic exam which was painful and scary. Even after the infection was cleared, they weren’t able to have sex due to the penetration issue. The couple said they used to feel like roommates.
In January the couple was able to find the root cause of the issue. Stephanie had vaginismus wherein the vagina tightens up during intercourse.
Stephanie said that she was saving her virginity for the wedding as she didn’t want to have sex with anyone that isn’t her husband. Stephanie said that sex is an intimate feeling that you must feel with someone special.
Now when she is not able to have sex with her husband, Stephanie feels ashamed of her.
She further added that she and her husband have talked about vaginismus and how it has removed the romance from their relationship.
In the majority of nights, they would be careful about other physical intimacy as they didn’t want to steer towards sex and end up being disappointed.
Stephanie was prescribed with Vicolin, a medicine to dampen the pain during the intercourse.
In January the couple took a five-month treatment course that has eventually healed Stephanie.
She now thank her husband for all the support he has given throughout the journey and not given up on her and the relationship.
