A woman who missed out on $10,000 after giving the wrong answer on “Family Feud Canada” went viral and ended up getting $10,000 worth of free food from Popeyes.
In the Thursday night’s episode, the game show entered the “sudden death” round, whoever answered correctly won the show.
“Alright, real simple. There’s one question, only one answer. Whoever gets it, you’re playing for $10,000. Whoever guesses this wins the game,” says, Gerry Dee, host of Family Feud Canada.
Dee asked the question: “Name Popeye’s favorite food.” Before he finishes the question Dubois presses the buzzer and sings “Chiiiiicckkkkennn!” and started her hilarious happy dance.
Family members were stunned as the audience and host burst into laughter — everyone else understood that Dee was talking about the cartoon character and not the Popeyes fried chicken chain.
The competitor, Logan Tomlin, quickly retorts, “Spinach, Gerry.” His answer won his family $10,000 and the game.
Dubois gave her excuse for her wrong answer: “I thought you meant Popeyes chicken!”
The clip has now got over 1 million views, and Popeyes chicken quickly took notice.
Popeyes took to twitter to offer Dubois $10,000 worth of chicken. “@sublimevey! Our survey says you got that right. DM us to claim your $10,000 worth of Popeyes.”
Dubois has happily forgotten her funny mishap and has even embraced it. She shared a video of herself dancing with fried chicken Proving that she’s always been a chicken fanatic. “This was taken two years ago…#theoriginalchickendance?” she captioned the tweet.
Popeyes has recently grabbed attention and made headlines for their highly popular spicy chicken sandwich.
It was a funny moment but we are happy that she got something at least, and her wrong answer to make her win something.
