Husky got his ear pricked up as soon as he listened the siren. The sound were ear-piercing husky. However, husky decided not to bark at that situation. Instead, he decided to imitate the sound.
He started judging the source of the sound before even raising his head. He then began to howl on its own. To utter surprise, husky was able to manage the highs and lows of the sound and maintain the pitch.
The sound that husky made everyone remind of wolves in the wild. Wolves are known to make such sounds while calling each other. As a matter of fact, huskies are known as the successors of wolves.
In other cases, dogs generally interpret the siren as a mode of communication. The siren can be a clarinet, flute, or a television theme song.
Researches stated that howling can only be heard by the sharp ears of the dog and even wolves from large distances. Howling is also their favorite mode of communication.
There are canine owners who might have observed their pet howling at the neighbor’s pet. It is also said to be the basic contagious reaction. This capability entirely depends on the breed and age of that breed.
Dogs have the ability to listen high frequency of sounds when compared to humans. Adding to this, huskies feel an immediate need to get in touch with the source of the sirens.
It is because they feel like a group of dogs is trying to communicate from a long distance. Some might also feel insecure and ignore the same.
