A dog owner has thanked her pooch for chewing up her passport, forcing her to cancel her trip to Wuhan only days before the deadly virus outbreak.
The woman from Taiwan shared a photo of her destroyed passport after her adorable dog Kimi had chewed it up.
“I got back to the room and found this scene!” the frustrated dog owner wrote on Facebook as her shattered passport meant she couldn’t book flights to Wuhan, forcing her to cancel her plans.
A few days later, Wuhan has been placed on lockdown due to the spread of coronavirus.
As of Sunday, the deadly virus had infected more than 2,000 people worldwide and took the lives of 56 in China.
The scary outbreak made the woman realize that instead of getting mad at her dog, she should be thankful.
“Do you guys remember the passport? Throwback: this kid is really protecting me,” she wrote.
“After my passport was torn apart, the virus began to go where I originally planned to go.
“I think about it now, and it’s very touching. Fortunately, you blocked our trip.”
The dog owner added: “Thanks for you protect me again. I’m so lucky to meet you in my life. Love you more my baby girl.”
According to reports, officials are stepping up construction of hospitals to deal with coronavirus patients. This comes after the health minister of Beijing assured reporters that authorities have increased efforts to prevent the spread of deadly virus.
Ma Xiaowei added that “it seems like the ability of the virus to spread is getting stronger” and said the administration will continue to stop transport connections.
