Outback Relief Pack of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has successfully raised a massive amount of $1.
6 million USD that translates to $2.38 million AUD till now and they are on the run to raise even more funding for the aid of Australian Bushfire.
The Australian bushfire has destructed more than half of the country and it is not stopping. Thousands of people have been affected; millions and millions of animals have died and the nation is devastated.
To build it back and to bring the life back, the fundraising is extremely important. The developer of the game Infinity Ward confirmed that 100% of the raised money will go for public aid.
The developers of the game at first had launched it as The Outback Pack but after the demands made the Call of Duty community, the name of the game was changed into Outback Relief Pack as the developers had decided to use the game to raise money for bushfire rather than enjoying its profits for the company.
In January, many new cosmetics were included in the game on the theme of Australia’s bushfire and the money raised from it has gone for the aid. The cosmetics were available for the entire month and the fundraiser ran the entire month too.
It was disclosed by the developers that all the money they have raised through the game before the announcement was made of the collection will go directly for relief.
Activision announced that they have already started putting the money to use by providing emergency and health supplies to the affected people along with the help of aid groups that are spread around the country.
The fire has devastated the lives of many and it will take a long time to build it back, till then the fundraisers are the only ray of hope for them.
