After a long delay, it seems that the visual effects and character designs are given a complete makeover to the film.
And, now the Paramount’s Sonic The Hedgehog adaptation hit theaters this week. Reportedly, fans are happy with the work that has been done.
According to the early reports, it’s currently got a 94 percent new rating on film review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.
It takes a slow start, but fans have been coming to watch the highly anticipated video game film. And they are loving what they’re seeing.
The movie – which stars Jim Carrey – earned only a 63 percent rating at the beginning. But now it is doing very good and it becomes the highest level ever attained by a video game adaptation.
Ben Schwartz, who gave the voice for the titular character shared his amazement and joy. He tweeted that he is happy with the viewer’s liking and enjoying the film.
Schwartz said: “It’s not just that so many of you are going to see #Sonicmovie, it’s that you are loving what you see!
“SONIC IS CERTIFIED FRESH ON @ROTTENTOMATOES W/ A 94% AUDIENCE SCORE & AN “A” CINEMA SCORE! How are those numbers calculated? I have no idea! But I’ve been told this is amazing.”
Fans have been gushing about the movie online, as well.
One person commented: “I think we can officially say that Sonic & [Ryan Reynolds starring Detective] Pikachu finally ended the video game movie curse!…well for now.”
Another wrote: “Finally got to see the #SonicMovie for myself today & my gosh, I loved it lots. A fresh take on the #SonictheHedgehog universe with its unique cast & feel. This childlike Sonic melted muh heart, man.
“Now the REAL fun can begin.”
On Reddit, one irate ex-staff member vented their fury, writing: “We’ve all put in extreme hours wrapping two infamous projects in the last couple of months.
“We’ve done multiple weeks without a day off, regular 17-plus hour shifts to the point that most of us are seriously sleep-deprived and are suffering still.”
“We’ve worked f***ing hard to get this work out the door for MPC, and I’m genuinely ashamed that they are happier prioritizing their profit margins and tax incentives over the insane talent and commitment of hundreds of dedicated VFX artists in Vancouver.
“I honestly feel insulted, like I’ve given MPC my all and in return, they gave me the finger.”
Fans are loving their work, and it is a great reward.
