Just like it is said, a good man will always walk alone the battles of supreme difficulties.
Gov. Ralph Northam of Virginia just lost his battle that he had been fighting for long after the lawmakers shelved his bill for one year that demanded a ban on the sale of assault weapons.
The law-making community includes several Democrats of Senate Judiciary Committee who all voted for the bill to be rested on the shelf for a year.
The bill demanded a ban over some of the weaponry that included AR-15-style rifles. But most of the moderates and about four Democrats joined in with the Republicans in rejecting the legislation.
The bill also banned magazines that hold over 12 rounds.
The Democrats rejecting the bill included John S. Edwards, Virginia Senators R. Creigh Deeds, Scott A. Surovell and Chap Petersen.
The committee that came to the decision of keeping the guns in use received praise from the advocates of using guns but it all has come out as a huge setback for the government that has been working on taking control over the usage of guns.
A spokesperson of Governor Northam said he is disappointed by the result but will continue to fight for it next year.
Gun usage has been a huge problem in the country and this was the prime motto of Democrats. They had planned to reduce down the usage of a gun as soon as they got control over the assembly for the first time in over two decades.
The issue will not settle down soon with people constantly getting engaged in debates over the issue, especially the gun owners who belong to the rural region who had decided to make their voice heard this time.
Some may still think it is a great decision made by the lawmakers but in the end, the more guns they have out in the hands of the public, the more the crime rate will be.
