Kids can be kids even when they grow up.
If kids are with their parents, they are always protected and to be honest they never seem housework as their job.
When everyone lives in the house, it is everyone’s job to keep it clean. To impose the same idea and to make her kids learn the rules of cleaning up, she made a contract and her kids agreed to it.
What is there to add? If the kids break the contract or miss out on any rule, they are supposed to pay a fine of £5 or their phone can be taken away for some days in a row.
Katrina Neathey is the mother of three, Olivia,13, Joshua 18, and Hayden, 19. She was troubled by her kids every single day and she was done with nagging around every day so she decided to make a set of rules.
If the boys break the contract they were supposed to pay fine and if Olivia breaks the contract, her phone would be taken away.
Katrina, who owns a cleaning business says “I was done nagging around them all day. They would hide dirty clothes and used utensils behind the cupboard. I once found a days old milk bottle that is supposed to go out every single day.
It went over my head when they left dirt on my £2,000 carpet. It was torture and I had had enough. So I made a set of rules and put them down in this contract that they had to sign. They signed it and since then my life has become so much easier.
They have only paid £20 until now. The first time £5 was taken out of their pocket, they instantly changed and I am so happy with it. I can finally be free.”
