More than 15 years after the Friends show last aired, the highly-anticipated reunion will finally air on HBO Max, and fans can’t wait any longer!
The whole cast of the popular series have signed up for the unscripted special which will be available on the new streaming service of HBO when it launches in May.
Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt Le Blanc, David Schwimmer, and Lisa Kudrow will reunite for a celebration of the series.
The reunion will take place at Stage 24, the series’ original sound stage, on the Warner Bros. Studio lot in California, according to TVLine.
The news was also confirmed by the cast on Instagram as they all shared a post of the same photo with the caption: “It’s happening…”
Matthew Perry shared the same message on his Twitter page.
CCO of HBO Max Kevin Reilley said in a statement: “Guess you could call this the one where they all got back together — we are reuniting with David, Jennifer, Courteney, Matt, Lisa, and Matthew for an HBO Max special that will be programmed alongside the entire Friends library.”
He added: “I became aware of Friends when it was in the very early stages of development and then had the opportunity to work on the series many years later and have delighted in seeing it catch on with viewers generation after generation.
“It taps into an era when friends – and audiences – gathered together in real time, and we think this reunion special will capture that spirit, uniting original and new fans.”
All actors will work as executive producers on the reunion special with Friends’ original executive producers Kevin Bright, David Crane and Marta Kauffman.
