55-year-old Kevin Adkins and his 27-year-old horse spent every single day together for the last 27 years.
After being diagnosed with cancer three years ago, Adkins spent all his time with his beloved horse Vic and his daughter Delaney.
Adkins also went for a trip to the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas with his daughter.
And then his health deteriorated.
After battling cancer for 3 years, Kevin knew he had only a few days or months left so he expressed his desire to see his horse of 27 years, Vic, one last time before dying.
His 26-year-old daughter Delaney Adkins made sure his wish was fulfilled.
Adkins purchased the horse from D&J Ranch and the owner of the ranch, Jennifer Wadley, told they were inseparable ever since then.
Jennifer said: “It could be pouring rain, it could be snowing, it could be hotter than heck. He was always here.”
“Take the time to brush him, pick his feet and spend time with him, and that went on every day.”
After he was admitted to a hospital, he couldn’t see his beloved horse and when he expressed his last wish, his daughter decided to arrange a meeting with his beloved horse.
After he was moved to hospice care in his sister’s house, Kevin and Vic met to say a final goodbye.
Jennifer said: “I think he knew. I think what was so moving was watching Kevin with his horse. He lived for his horse. It was very moving.”
Adkins and Vic’s emotional meeting left everyone teary-eyed. Sadly, Adkins passed away the next day after meeting his beloved horse.
Adkins’s family is happy they could reunite the pair for the one last time as they were inseparable ever since they met.
When the video of their reunion was posted online, it went viral instantly and left everyone in tears.
