A 53-year-old has lost 3 stone after ditching pizza and burgers for homemade versions.
Jules Smith from Leeds has saved £6k in a year after she decided to eat homemade pizza and burgers to lose weight.
Jules, who used to eat takeaways, decided to create homemade pizza and burgers after she started her weight loss journey in 2015.
She didn’t want to miss out on her favourite foods so she swapped them for homemade versions.
Jules has lost 3 stone and saved £6k in a year after she started creating homemade pizza and burgers that she calls ‘Fakeaways’.
She now regularly shares pictures of her incredible figure and her homemade foods on her Instagram.
She started sharing her meals online to motivate and inspire others who also plan to lose weight without missing out on their favourite foods.
However, eight years ago, she didn’t even know how to boil an egg and would live off of takeaways and ready meals.
Her partner, Graham, taught her to cook and now she is preparing meals all by herself.
She said: “It really took a toll on our health and our bank balance. Learning to cook has really helped with my weight loss and batch cooking is one of the best things.”
She said she found cooking boring and that’s why she calls herself the ‘Lazy Cook’ as her recipes are simple, quick, and easy.
She said: “Since cutting out the takeaways, I’ve made Indian, Chinese, McDonalds, KFC, and more ‘fakeaways’. I batch cook them so they can last for weeks and save us so much money.”
She says cooking has helped her saving money as she usually shops in Tesco, Asda, Lidl, and Aldi.
She said she struggled to lose weight because she couldn’t move a lot. Doctors even told her she would end up in a wheelchair.
Jules is now inspiring people through her YouTUbe channel, Facebook, and Instagram where she has thousands of followers.
