A 25-year-old from Glasgow has landed a dream job after beating 63,000 applicants from around the world to become Florida’s official theme park tester including Disneyland.
Alexandria Adamson, a former Disney store worker, will earn £3,000 in three weeks to test Florida’s main theme parks for a travel company.
In May, Alexandria will go to America with a friend and will travel around to test Florida’s major theme parks including Disney and Universal during her three-week trip.
Alexandria, who worked as a merchandise assistant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in 2015 and a character attendant in the Magic Kingdom in summer 2016, believes she has been selected because of her degree and job experience.
She has also worked at the Disney store in Glasgow and Dundee.
After beating 63,000 applicants from around the world to land the dream job, Alexandria said: “I just feel like I’m waiting for someone to wake me up from a dream.”
“I think everyone who knows me knows there is no other job that’s more perfect for me. So many people applied so I’m so lucky.”
“It’s not just a free holiday for me, I want to make a career out of theme park design”, she added.
At the start of January, applications for the role opened and among 63,000 applicants from around the world, only 70 were shortlisted.
They were asked to submit a video explaining why they are the perfect fit for the job.
Six candidates were then shortlisted for the final phone interview and Alexandria landed the dream job as Florida’s official theme park tester including Disneyland and Universal.
Alexandria will be traveling to all of Florida’s major parks and will test park experience, food and drink, souvenirs, parades, rides, thrill factor, attractions, and photo opportunities.
