The Simpsons Movie in 2007 supposedly ‘predicted’ the moment that Tom Hanks would be quarantined.
If so, then that would only improve the batting average of The Simpsons as the series has gained a reputation for including scenes in its episodes that uncannily come to pass as future events.
The 63-year-old Hanks had a cameo in the movie. Incidentally, the animation also “predicted” Donald Trump becoming president as well as The Shard being built.
In the cameo, Hanks was advertising a “new Grand Canyon” amid assertions that the US government had lost its credibility.
He adds: “This is Tom Hanks saying if you see me in person, please, please leave me be.”
Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson was in quarantine in Australia after both tested positive for the coronavirus. They were hospitalized after they complained of tiredness of “body aches.”
Simpsons fans now claim that the series of unfortunate events that Hanks went through was hinted at in the show.
One said: “The Simpsons also nailed the prediction of Tom Hanks being quarantined.”
Another added: “Tom Hanks has coronavirus who’s gonna dig up the Simpsons episode that predicted this.”
Someone else said: “So now the Simpsons predicted Tom Hanks getting the coronavirus too… wtf.”
Another asked: “Can the Simpson’s predict the solution to the virus and Tom hanks.”
But others feel that the “prediction” tying it to the Simpsons was tenuous at best and seemed to be just reaching.
Hanks was in Australia working with director Baz Luhrmann on a yet-untitled Elvis Presley film.
He revealed: “We felt a bit tired like we had colds, and some body aches.
“Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too.
“To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the Coronavirus, and were found to be positive.”
He added: “Well now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed.
“We Hanks will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requirements.
“Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?
“We’ll keep the world posted and updated.
“Take care of yourselves! Hanx!”
