President Donald Trump announced that he is ordering a shut-down of Travel from Europe to America from last Friday onwards.
This decision is taken as a measure to stop the spread of coronavirus in the United States of America.
On Wednesday night, the President addressed the nation and said that he is suspending all travel from Europe to America for the coming 30 days.
The ban is applicable for travelers who have visited 26 nations within the EU’s Schengen border in the last 14 days except for the UK or Ireland, American citizens, and their immediate family.
The move immediately caused a state of panic among American who is currently in Europe as they began to scramble to the airport.
The State Department also ordered that all Americans will have to go through a mandatory quarantine and might face a further ban. But they did not make it clear about the source of this information.
While addressing that nation Trump nowhere mentioned what measures are being adopted by the states to stop the spread of COVID-19 within the border such as banning public gathering, closing schools, restricting travel, etc.
The President did announce co-payment wavers for the treatment of coronavirus and briefly mentioned about test kits. His announcement was quickly addressed with a lot of criticism from different industries.
WHO also criticized the travel ban and warned that it protects the resourced on the borders instead of stopping the virus from spreading inside the communities.
The disease needs to be addressed with a better health system and measures to stop its spread within the community. There is a public health crisis in nature, and the way to keep the citizens safe is to ensure that the administration together fights against the spread of COVID-19.
