Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot called on her celebrity friends to sing a rendition of Imagine by John Lennon to remind everyone that ‘we’re in this together.
’
Gal shared a 3-minute long video on her Instagram page, showing her celebrity pals, including Will Ferrell, Natalie Portman and Mark Ruffalo, taking turns to sing Imagine.
“Hey guys! Day six in self-quarantine and I’ve got to say these past few days have got me feeling a bit philosophical,” she says in the clip.
“You know this virus… it has affected the entire world. Everyone. It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you’re from, we’re all in this together,” Gal continued.
“I saw a video of an Italian guy playing the trumpet on his balcony, for all the people locked in their homes, and he was playing ‘Imagine’ and there was something so powerful and pure about this video.”
Gal sings the first line of the song before the clip goes to Kristen Wiig. It then switches to Jamie Dornan then moves to Labrinth before going to James Marsden and other big stars.
The clip ends with Wonder Woman singing the last part.
Gal Gadot is not the only star to try and lift people’s spirits during the pandemic. Comedian Ricky Gervais also vowed to his fans that he will go live on social media every night to give them a good laugh during this serious situation.
In one of his videos, Gervais jokingly said that he would do ‘survival tips’ and ‘fashion tips’ before explaining it was not going to be ‘top quality entertainment’ because it was life.
“When I do something like After Life, it takes me, like, six months to write,” he shared.
