To be fair, a month behind the general public, that is.
The audacious Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently made their wills very clear that they will no longer serve the British people as their monarchs. Whilst they were preparing for their grand exit, the Corona crisis has blown up in their faces, making their exit inevitably delayed.
It seems they have given deep thought to the remainder of their tenure. And it would seem very thoughtful for their entitled Royal Highnesses to serve it properly, as the Brits would say.
According to the recent Mail Online article, the public asked, and they have dutifully delivered. Except that the public was very well unpleased.
From their Vancouver Island abode, Harry and Meghan shared a post on their Instagram accounts in the isolation process yesterday on the 24th March. In a seemingly innocuous and rather carefully synchronized post they argued for the following:
“For all of us, the best way we can support health workers is to make sure we do not make their job any harder by spreading this disease further. (…) You may have seen or heard these before, but they are as important today as ever.”
On top of their posts they included a picture from the WHO, arguing for the obvious: Wash your hands, avoid touching your face, maintain social distancing, etc.
This all would be all spotlessly perfect and regal of their position to notify the public. Except for the fact that everyone in the Great Isles, as well as for us across the Atlantic (and indeed anywhere else), is already safe and snug in our quarantined isolations. And many are feeling resentful and ridiculed by their snog and sheer uppity to dare impose their soon-to-be-gone authorities and social pompousness.
To quote a very sarcastic Instagram commentator, “Gosh, I haven’t seen this information before. Where have I been?” While we found other comments like, “Oh my, nobody had told us that before. So good that you can provide information that nobody else can.”
One snide little user managed to put the following by saying, “I’m desperately trying to find a post that isn’t telling us what we already know(…) Anyone who isn’t aware of the steps we have to take by now must be living under a rock.”
Thus, the soon-to-be-ex Prince and Princess are under a spitfire of sarcastic comments, questioning their relevancy and the sheer lack of empathy that the royal family has boasted over the years of their modern existence.
We’d love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Have the authorities dealt with the crises thoroughly? If yes, please COMMENT and also SHARE our story brought to you today.
