Oprah Winfrey has made a donation announcement to help Americans with coronavirus outbreak that has severely affected the entire country.
The popular TV host (66) announced that she would be donating $10 million in order to support cities and people throughout the country.
Oprah tweeted that she will be donating $10 million to help Americans during coronavirus pandemic in different cities throughout the country.
Along with this, she also included a COVID-19 talk series where she is educating people about how they are of service during such grave times.
Furthermore, the host said that she would be donating $1 million to America’s Food Fund, which is working towards ensuring that everyone has access to food. This fund was launched by Hollywood actor, Leonardo DiCaprio, Apple, Laurene Powell Jobs, and Ford Foundation.
Oprah said that she believed that America’s Food Fund would be an excellent way to make a significant difference for our neighbors who are in need, and she is committing $1 million towards this fund.
While there are limited options through which the country can get help, Oprah has a desire to give back to society, irrespective of the obstacles.
Oprah further said that she was amazed by the work of some of the organizations. While the priority is to stay home and safe, people are looking for ways that they can help.
Additionally, she has also launched an Apple TV+ series, Oprah Talks COVID-19 where she has been helping people get through this tiring pandemic.
In the TV series, Oprah has a conversation with experts as well as regular people in order to provide meaning, insights, and advice that will be useful for the people. Idris Elba, who tested positive of coronavirus was among the guests who appeared on her TV series.
