Three children are left with nothing after thieves broke into their home and stole everything a day after their mother’s death.
Kim Lomas died last month at her home in East Kilbride, leaving behind her three children – 11-year-old Sean, and nine-year-old twins Shannon and Tammy.
Kim’s mother, Grace told that Kim suffered from depression and her kids have been living with her for the last few years.
They used to visit Kim often and were left devastated after her death.
Grace said: “She just lived up the street so we visited her all the time and the weans are just devastated at losing her.”
A day after she died, thieves broke into her house and stole everything from her home, including her jewelry and clothes and her 11-year-old son Sean’s PlayStation and TV that he kept at his mother’s house.
The 58-year-old grandma said that the children are now left with nothing except a few photographs.
Grace said the thieves must have known Kim’s house was empty after she died and that’s why they broke into the house and stole everything.
Grace said: “Whoever did this can only be described as dirty, underhand, lousy, thieving scumbags.”
“When the girls turned 18 I could have said to them, ‘Here’s your mammy’s wee necklace or wee pair of earrings’. But there’s no keepsakes to give them now.”
Police are investigating the cause of Kim’s death while her funeral is on Thursday that will be attended by her mother and her children only due to coronavirus social gathering restrictions.
She said the kids will be there to say goodbye to their mother because they are left with nothing now.
They just have a few photographs to remember their mother.
