The Scottish Terminator fought through a series of F-5S from the Beast Incarnate to beat the odds and claim the gold.
The 34-year old wrestler from Ayr finally accomplished his dream and stood true to the prediction of Vince McMahon for being “The Chosen One” after a fierce match with the ex-UFC king.
From the opening bell, Mclntyre was on a back foot as Lesnar started to welcome him with punches from early on. He also fought with German Suplexes along with two F-5s; however, he managed to stay in the game.
The champion was in his full rage when he hit a third F-5 and looked sure to claim the victory only for the wrestler to be kicked out again.
Paul Heman was seen encouraging his man Lesnar from the ringside, saying that he is doing really good and to hit Mclntyre again. He encouraged him to continue hitting him throughout the night as he cannot keep kicking out.
Lesnar appears to be having fun when he picked his opponent up from the mat. This was the very moment when Mclntre came to life and launched a Claymore kicked.
This was followed by another punch as the Beast began to gain his posture and landed his third punch on his challenger.
When the Beast went for the pin, Lesnar had no fight left to kick out, and from there, the party began to draw north for him. The entire match kept the audience on their toes and capped Mclntyr’s rollercoaster yet phenomenal journey.
He was released from WWE in June 2014 and said that he watched the WrestleMania 31 in a nightclub at his hometown in Glasgow.
He continued to work on his reputation on the independent scene, and made a return to WWE in the year 2017 as part of the NXT brand prior to moving up to the main roster after a year.
