A few years ago, a boy was walking by Lake Kurtna Matasjarv when he noticed anonymous tracks leading into the lake.
It was odd because no one was coming out anywhere.
The boy wondered what these tracks are as the lake was too small for boating. His curiosity was heightened, every day for two months he saw air bubbles emerging from the lake.
After he notified a few people about it, a team started to dig deeper into the mysterious clues surrounding the lake. You will not believe what they pulled out of the lake. It was nothing short of extremely astonishing.
When the authorities started investigating the lake, they knew it was something big. The team decided to pull it out of the lake, no matter how deep it is inside the lake.
Some very heavy equipment and machines were called to pull this mysterious thing out of the lake. It took the team around 8 hours get this thing completely out of the lake. Giant steel cables were used to pull this thing out.
To everyone’s surprise, it was a giant military tank. Everybody present there were scratching their heads. When they pulled out the tank, it had World War II markings on it.
It was a 30-ton WW2 tank pulled out by a 68-ton dozer. Although it was not an easy job, a lot of pulling, repositioning, and digging was done to pull out this tank from the lake.
Surprisingly, the tank was in good condition. It was buried beneath the lake for decades. Later, it was confirmed that the tank was captured in 1944 by the Soviet Army and then used by the Germans.
The tank now has been restored and is in full running condition. It is believed that it was purposely driven into the lake to obscure its location.
