There is life beyond being an actor or actress and Jennifer Stone just proved that in spades.
The Wizards of Waverly Place alum had just finished nursing school in December. Now, the 27-year-old revealed on April 7 that she is officially a registered nurse.
Stone announced to her Instagram followers while celebrating World Health Day that she’s “ready to join” other frontliners who are battling the coronavirus pandemic now that she’s a bona fide nurse.
Her photo shows her presenting her medical facility badges and she captioned it with: “A very good friend of mine (@maiarawalsh ) pointed out to me that today is #worldhealthday. It is also the day I went from a volunteer, then a student nurse, and now an RN resident.”
“I just hope to live up to all of the amazing healthcare providers on the front lines now as I get ready to join them,” she captioned the shot, alongside the hashtags “#worldhealthorganization #supportnurses #westayhereforyou❤️pleasestayhomeforus #covid2020.”
Stone is widely known for her portrayal of Harper Finkle on the popular Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place. After leaving the series in 2012, she also had roles in several independent TV movies and films.
After being diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in 2013, Stone had to take a break from acting. This detail was revealed during a 2016 interview with Beyond Type 1, a nonprofit dedicated to providing resources for those who have diabetes. That’s when she took up psychology before switching to nursing.
In an Instagram post from last year, she proudly showed off her diploma and wrote: “It’s been a long road of blood (mostly other people’s), sweat, and tears (those were mine) but I can finally call myself a nursing grad!”
“Now to start studying for NCLEX!#nursingschoolgraduate #nurselife #actorbyday #nursebynight.”
And now she’s one more warrior who can join the desperate fight against the coronavirus. Bravo!
Replaced!
