Dr.
Ee Tay was inspired to celebrate her birthday in the most special way. In the time of this epidemic, she knew the only thing she wanted to do for her birthday was to help people struggling with their lives.
When communicating to a colleague working at New York City’s Bellevue Hospital, she found out more and more people were dying every day in the hospital.
The sad part was they had no one around when they died and there is no means to communicate with their loved ones before they die.
Keeping the same mind, she decided to get a set of tablets that the hospital staff can use to contact the family and friends of the dying patient and let them see their beloved people one last time.
With the help of social media and the Bank of New York Mellon, Dr. Tay was able to get a great number of donations. With the same, she was able to donate 650 tablets to the hospitals in NYC including New York City’s Bellevue Hospital.
Tay says “The most important thing to know is that your family and loved ones are around in the most difficult times. This gives strength and happiness to a person. And what is better than giving happiness to a person who is dying alone in a hospital bed?”
“Other than the patient, it is important for the patient’s family too. The family that is trapped inside their homes far far away from their loved one deserves to meet their dying family member.
We all deserve to know what happened to our loved ones in their last time.
In a bid to help the families with the same, Dr. Tay worked for the cause and she was successful. She celebrated her birthday in the best way she could have.
