We’ve seen how the coronavirus and the pandemic it precedes totally devastated the world, tearing families apart, sometimes literally as members weren’t allowed final deathbed audience of their loved ones.
One such tragic case has struck upon the seven-year-old Evan Cadby of Cardiff, Wales, UK, who has lost his mother and grandmother, and awaits father to come back healthy in the midst of all this mess. Currently an online funding has been sought, raising £13,775 as of now, almost 14 times the originally estimated donation amount.
The mum who passed away was Julianne Cadby, pronounced dead on April 15 at her home, four days after her mother Joan was also taken away. Julianne was the business manager for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board, working in the child & adolescent mental health department for 16 devoted years.
Fundraiser Natalie Lloyd-Hughes couldn’t just stand by, as she was friend of the family and has written thus:
‘We heard the absolutely awful news that Julianne had passed away from Covid-19.
Myself and all of Julianne’s friends from school would like to help this family as much as we can, and ask you to please dig as deep as your pockets will allow for this lovely family who have endured the worst possible loss.To Julianne and Chris’s families and friends, we send our deepest condolences and pray for you at this sad time.
Julianne and Joan – fly high ladies and rest peacefully in the knowledge your boys will be taken care of. ’
Julianne’s loss is not only of a personal one but that of the public sector, as she has worked in the field for 30 years tirelessly for the services.
Her workplace has issued its own statement of mourning with the following message: ‘It is with profound sadness that we must inform you that Julianne Cadby has passed away after testing positive for Covid-19.
Julianne was a much-loved member of our team, she was extremely warm and caring and would always make time to help and support her colleagues. Her dedication shone through, playing a central role in all that we do in the service and her focus was always on ensuring we are delivering the best service we can for children and young people.
