Kristen Vogler, from Nebraska, decided to replace her parents’ family portraits with her artwork during the lockdown period.

She worked on the project for 12 days without her parents knowing about it.

After finishing the work, she posted it in Facebook writing: “In case anyone needs a laugh, I’ve been working on a project for the last 12 days, without telling my parents, waiting for them to notice.”

“I started poorly recreating the framed photos on our wall with top-notch art supplies, aka – a box of crayons. Every day I replaced a new photo with a new, and terrible, crayon drawing.”

Kristen revealed that it was not easy to keep the masterpiece hidden from her parents. “Sneaking these masterpieces up was not easy, I had to hide in the bathroom clutching the frames multiple times,” she said.

The surprising thing is her parents were oblivious of the fact that her daughter has replaced their portraits with her artwork and they noticed it after nearly a week.

Kristen continued: “It took [my parents] Paula Sassone Vogler and Mike Vogler days to notice that anything had changed. I find that concerning.”

“I had a lot of fun messing with my parents during the downtime between Kristen Vogler Design projects. I hope you enjoy it, and if you know someone needing a mediocre crayon drawing, you know where to find me.”

“These crayon works are not supposed to be good by any means, that was part of the fun, so feel free to make fun of them.”

Social media users praised Kristen for her secret project as one woman wrote, “Absolutely brilliant.”

Another said: “Oh what fun. I redecorated a whole room it took me about three weeks. One wall at a time and no one in the family noticed. I understand your pain.”
