People were seen waiting in a long line of cars outside a McDonald’s drive-thru that reopened amid the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown.
Hungry mouths craving fast food were caught on camera in Seine-et-Marne, France, where McDonald’s has reopened several stores.
In the footage recorded by Valentine Pelous, dozens of cars are seen waiting in line one after another for their turn to place an order.
According to Mr. Pelous, the congestion lasted for several hours whereas another witness said that some of his friends allegedly waited for three hours to place an order.
“I had to use another road to go home because it was so gridlocked,” a local named Joshua expressed in an interview with the local media.
“I thought I’d stop there on my way home, but there were already so many cars… I couldn’t.
“In the evening when I went to play sports, there were even more people. Some friends waited up to three hours to get their McDonald’s!”
Another resident who witnessed the long queue as he went shopping was Sebastien who said:
“I went shopping around 5pm and the queue was already snail-paced. It must have lasted until 10pm.”
Similarly, some people have taken to social media to share their experience with long queues in front of McDonald’s.
“Just went past a McDonald’s and the queue for the drive thru is proper out onto a main road like no joke a 50 car queue!!” someone tweeted.
