Ed Sheeran owns a pub in Notting Hill, wherein he employs some 10 staff members.
Unlike Victoria Beckham and her ilk who has furloughed their staff and then utilized taxpayer’s money to pay for the compensations, it has been reported that Ed Sheeran is indeed made of different materials, as he vows to maintain his staff in normal levels. The 29-year-old Grammy-award winning, multiple-platinum pop singer is currently valued at a staggering $190 mil. by himself alone. Using a partial sum of his hard earned money from music, he will keep his London-based bar ‘Bertie Blossoms’ under his own expenses, although it was out of business since March due to government decision. The workers are said to be in their homes, while the singer is continually paying for them in normal wages.
This has been confirmed by his spokesman, who has personally testified that the Treasury’s expenditure will not be spent on paying Bertie Blossom’s staffs’ wages of 80%, which is deemed at £2,500 per month.
This draws a stark contrast to Victoria Beckham and her self-titled fashion brand, where she has confidently asked for the subsidiary assistance by the government, although the Beckhams’ fortunes have amassed to a whopping £355 million.
The representative has told the public interviewer that: ‘The business, co-owned by Ed Sheeran and Stuart Camp, is not, and will not, be accessing any Government scheme of any kind, including furloughing, grants, loans and so on.
’
The pub’s reputation precedes itself from its initial opening back in September 2019, when Sheeran opened the little pub with his manager Stuart Camp in co-ownership.
The self-description was a ‘bright green, low-lit bar set over two floors with extensive drinks list including house cocktails’.
However, the installation itself has garnered some poor reviews, in an embarrassing deflection to the multi-millionaire singer songwriter’s fame and reputation. It was previously a deeply resented restaurant, and Sheeran managed to change the purpose of the place into a bar, albeit some neighborhood disagreements to noisy pub-goers.
But now it seems, his decision to downsize and manage what he can has proved for the best for the singer and his second vocation as the boss for a small London town bar!
