The country seems to be piling on with crazier news each and every day, as Police in Holly, Michigan arrested a 68-year-old with assault charges.
The assault in question? This man, who goes by the name of Rex Gomoll, Linden, Genessee County, was charged with assault and battery by wiping his face on an employee’s shirt. Yes. This is totally real life. This man went inside a store with no mask, the lady asks him if he would put it on, and he downright does this thing without shame nor hesitation!
Holly Police Chief Jerry Narsh said “the man entered the store at around 1:30 p.
m. Saturday without a mask, despite an executive order in the state requiring patrons in enclosed public spaces to wear one at all times.” Rex Howard Gomoll of Linden faces misdemeanor charges of assault and battery, Jessica Cooper, the Oakland County prosecutor, said in addition.
The footage was a direct evidence that the event did take place, and that there would be no question as to how and why the incident had occurred. According to police reports, the employee had told Gomoll that “he needed to wear a face mask to remain in the store.” He responded by saying, “Here, I’ll just use this as a mask,” and then took to do what he has been alleged to have done, leaving entrails of his “bodily fluids,” Narsh said.
Narsh also said the employee was the only person who was in contact with the interred suspect. The employee also testified that Gomoll incessantly caused ruckus and was very uncooperative until he left the store
Randy Guiler, vice president of investor relations at Dollar Tree Inc.
, wrote in his official statement: “We are appreciative of the work of the Holly Police Department in seeing this man’s irresponsible and unacceptable behavior toward our associate was addressed promptly.”
This incident is only the second incident to have been directly related with the Michigan state’s decision and prerogative to require customers to wear masks when they enter a store.
On Friday, police in Flint say, a security guard was shot and killed at a Family Dollar in an incident that began when he approached a customer and instructed her to wear a face covering.
