A concerned neighbor immediately contacted the police after hearing a toddler screaming while a man shouted repeatedly: “Why don’t you die?!”
The terrified neighbor told police she heard a man screaming and a child also wailing in fear as she passed the house on her morning walk.
Three police units were dispatched and surrounded the house at around 9 am. While the sirens and lights disturbed the suburban street outside, the situation in the house was somehow innocent.
Police then stormed inside the home and were relieved to discover an innocent intruder.
It turned out that the father had been screaming because of a spider which had somehow got into their house while they were having breakfast.
The child’s screams were also because they were scared of the critter.
The mood lightened right away as the news spread and the police officers left the property.
Senior Sergeant Simon Hazell told Daily Mail that the number of units dispatched to the scene was necessary because of the ‘nature of the call.’
“Obviously it was the preferred outcome,” he said.
Unfortunately, the spider was pronounced dead at the scene. Police chose not to reveal its cause of death.
