A stray rooster had wandered into a car repair shop in North Carolina before befriending the workers and making their garage his new home.
Earl the rooster was first spotted by the R and R Garage staff over a year ago when he walked into their auto shop and showed no desire of leaving the place.
Before they knew it, the workers started feeding the rooster thinking that he’s going to leave the garage on his own when they return to work after the weekend.
Days later, however, the staff were surprised to see Earl still hanging around their workplace.
As The Dodo reported, the rooster would stay at a nearby tree and greet the employees as they made it to the auto shop.
When the weather is bad, the staff allegedly also make sure that Earl stays inside with a roof above his head.
“He comes running when the first guy comes in to open up for the day. He gets his cup of scratch, then wanders the shop looking for any bugs that may be around. He gets up under all the toolboxes and workbenches looking for spiders and anything else he can find,” co-owner Joe Gallo said in an interview with The Dodo.
As Mr. Gallo went on to say, Earl “doesn’t care about loud noises or people walking by.” Sometimes, he would even fall asleep right in front of the door leading to the office.
“We can’t believe the attention Earl is getting … We do have customers that bring other friends or family to see Earl when they come pick up their vehicles,” the auto shop co-owner added.
While no one seems to know the origins of the famous rooster, the R and R Garage staff are grateful to have Earl among their ranks.
