Just like everyone else, Queen Elizabeth II has been self-isolating herself with her family castles in Windsor castle.
Although she has released two televised addresses, they were all produced with the bare minimum personnel to ensure the safety of the royal family.
How is the 94 year old royalty spending her time in quarantine? According to Vanity Fair, Daily Mail and other sources, the Queen is said to be in good spirits as she goes horseback riding everyday and spending more time with her husband Prince Philip.
At the same time, she reportedly told those around her that she was ready to return to her duties as soon as she is cleared to do so. After the debacles over Prince Harry and Meghan severing their ties, the Queen said that it was important that the remaining family show solidarity.
A personal friend of the Queen said that her majesty was enjoying the extra time that she has to spend with Prince Philip. Prince Philip, who is now 98 years old, retired from all public duties as royalty in 2017 after engaging in more than 20,000 engagements as royalty.
The same source also confirmed that the Queen will not return against the government’s advice. However, much like everyone else under quarantine, her majesty also wished that life will soon return back to the normal that we all miss.
Also like everyone else, the source said that the Queen is doing what she can do fulfill her duties at home. The source said that the Queen was still receiving the usual government briefings and maintains in touch with the Prime Minister at least once a week.
Another source corroborated the claim that the Queen wanted to return to doing work like she has always done for decades. She reportedly was frustrated that she the usual seasonal events have been cancelled, and is keen on returning back to Buckingham Palace as soon as possible.
Both the Queen and Prince Philip are staying at Windsor castle right now. Usually, the Duke of Edinburgh spends his days at Sandringham Palace.
Recently, there was increased interest on the Queen after The Sun reported that her majesty may be limited to televised addresses and stop having personal engagements because of the pandemic.
We hope that her majesty and everyone else stay healthy in these times. Share this story with your friends, and be sure to follow us on Facebook for more news like this one.
