New Yorkers who went on their third date to Costa Rica in a spirit of whim has now been stuck there for a staggering two and a half months, according to the couple’s Instagram post due to coronavirus travel restrictions, and this has gathered many people’s interest in their own stuck-at-home moments.
After they’ve allegedly first met on an online dating App back in February, the couple Matt Richardson and Khani Lee decided they might want to spend their third date in a foreign landscape for a week. Now it has been over 70 days, and still remains to be elongated.
Richardson posted this on Instagram:’When you been abroad 6 weeks and still don’t know when you’re going home face.

Day 67 in Costa Rica. Since everyone has been asking me who I’ve been quarantined in Costa Rica with this whole time… meet Khani,’ he captioned a picture of pair.‘Don’t normally share stuff like this but these aren’t normal times,’ Richardson admitted. ‘Lucky to get stuck with someone like her. Hopefully back to the states soon!’
‘Our first two dates went really well … We were feeling adventurous.
It started out as a joke and then I escalated it and bought round-trip tickets to Costa Rica,’ Robertson told the reporter in a media interview.‘On the date of their flight, nonessential services closed and the airline told them they’d ‘be fine,’ Lee said.
She wasn’t advised not to go by anyone she knew because she kept their plans quiet. ‘I didn’t even tell anyone,’ Lee admitted.‘I told my mom when I was boarding the flight and my dad still doesn’t even know about Matt.
’Tourists staying in Costa Rica has been allowed to 90 days of stay under previous regulations, but due to the pandemic and its relevant measures, foreigners who have entered into the Mezzo-american border after December 17 of last year is granted a special leave until July 17.
Richardson has said he feels content with his current travel buddy and newfound relationship.
. ‘In hindsight, I’m really lucky to be stuck with someone like her … Everything happens for a reason,’ he said. ‘I guess I needed a global pandemic to push me into a relationship.’
